Night in the Naked City
New York City has always been unique.
These islands off the coast of America are an artistic magnet that draws thinkers and
dreamers from around the world.
New York City is the poetry of Walt Whitman, Langston Hughes, & Frank O’Hara .
This volume of poetry is dedicated to those rare birds, the native New Yorkers. It
contains 13 contemporary New York voices, each vibrant and unique
and yet representative of the sounds, the thoughts, and the reality that make up the City.

“Matthew Hupert {editor} is well known around "The Apple", as New York City is known, for the poetry readings he sponsors and hosts. He features all genders of poets born in that city, in the annual "Night in The Naked City” series, and now is editing an anthology of about a dozen such, with a multi selection of prose and stanzad poetic works.
Of special interest is the inclusion of some of Steve Dalachinsky's last poems. The loss of Steve's ever-live presence is mourned by many of us, who will read these with respect and appreciation. “
